The undergraduate programme, introduced in 1993, has consistently produced graduates who have excelled in academia, industry, and diverse professional domains. The postgraduate programme, launched in 2016, further strengthened the department’s commitment to advanced learning and scholarly engagement.A significant milestone was achieved in 2023 when the department was recognised as a Research Centre, providing a platform for advanced research and academic inquiry in English Studies. It remains the only recognised Research Centre in English affiliated to Kannur University in Wayanad district, marking its distinct academic position in the region.The department is committed to delivering inclusive and quality education, with a strong focus on developing proficiency in written and oral communication, critical thinking, and literary analysis.
